Book Creator joins Corporate Council
NYSCATE is proud to announce that Book Creator has become the newest member of our Corporate Council for 2022-23.
Students love it. Teachers love it. Book Creator is the simplest, most inclusive way to create content in the classroom.
This powerful digital tool is accessible to anyone, no matter their age, ability or literacy level. And that’s true for teachers as well as students. The results are incredible. When kids discover that they can be genuine creators they’re instantly engaged. They want to share their creations with friends, peers and parents. Interactive stories, science reports, research journals, comic adventures… it’s inspiring to see what young people are capable of.
With 100 million books made worldwide since 2011, and 98% of teachers saying it positively impacts their teaching, Book Creator is the secret to transforming student engagement. And in New York state, Book Creator is already working with 33,000 teachers and 165,000 students - together they've made 745,000 books! Book Creator has relationships with over 200 schools and districts across the state and is available to purchase through numerous BOCES.
Former Long Island Director for NYSCATE, Kristina A. Holzweiss said:
"I always say that "it's all about the teach, not the tech," but the Book Creator edtech tool has truly made me a better educator. From crowdsourcing The Digital Librarian's Survival Toolkit and The Epic Ebook of Web Tools & Apps, to creating a high school orientation book for our incoming 9th graders, to working with our special education students with speech and language support through the many accessibility features—Book Creator is a tool that supports all students and educators. I'm so excited that Book Creator is now a member of the NYSCATE Corporate Council, and is committed to further serving NYS educators."
Dan Amos, CEO and Founder of Book Creator, said:
"We're thrilled to be joining the NYSCATE Corporate Council and building on the relationships that we've already established in the New York area. New York has traditionally been ahead of the game when it comes to using technology to transform education - as seen in the excellent NYSED Computer Science and Digital Fluency standards and witnessed first hand at Newburgh Enlarged City School District - who used Book Creator across the curriculum to support teaching and learning. We hope this is the start of a great relationship with NYSCATE and we look forward to seeing you at the next live conference in November!"
