Morning Keynote Speaker: Dr. Jonah M. Schenker District Superintendent of Ulster BOCES
New York Inspired: Designing the Graduate of Tomorrow is a two-day virtual summit focused on understanding and advancing New York’s Portrait of a Graduate. Day One will explore the foundation of the Portrait of a Graduate—what it is, how it was developed, and what it means for schools across the state. Day Two will take a deeper dive into implementation, examining how districts can intentionally connect the Portrait to career readiness in K–12 settings. Participants will learn about successful programs already in place and discover statewide resources that support meaningful pathways between learning and future careers. This summit is designed to equip educational leaders with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration to bring the Portrait of a Graduate to life in their own communities.
The Graduate We Envision, The Experiences We Create
Join us for an engaging and interactive panel discussion featuring students, teachers, and administrators from a Mentor CTE school as they share their experiences bringing the Portrait of a Graduate to life. Through authentic stories and real-world examples, panelists will explore how the skills, competencies, and dispositions outlined in a Portrait of a Graduate are being developed and demonstrated in practice. Audience members will have the unique opportunity to shape the conversation by submitting questions for the panel, creating a dynamic dialogue centered on what it truly looks like when learners are prepared for success in college, career, and life.
