Google’s “Cool,” Tools for Teachers and Students

Presenter: Carol LaRow

See Google’s great WEB 2.0 tools for teachers and students, presented by a “Google Certified
Teacher.” Customize a start page for “personal learning environments,” have students
collaborate in peer-to-peer learning as they share projects assets, write, and edit online. Create
custom Maps, with placemarkers and photos imported from WEB Album, that can be embedded
on a WEB page or Blog and viewed in Google Earth. Customize searches, learn the “many”
features of News; use Docs, Presentations, Spreadsheets, and Forms; create WEB pages,
design custom search engines, keep online Notebooks, and discover what gadgets can do!
Observe geography and places in literature come alive as you “fly” students around the World
using Google Earth’s satellite imagery.
