MIE Trainer Academy- November 18 & 19, 2017

K-12 Instructional Trainers - Join us for a Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Trainer Academy to learn more about Microsoft’s hottest tools and resources to empower your staff and students to achieve more!  Bring your own Windows 10 device to this two-day professional learning experience to learn how to maximize your use of Windows and take an immersive deep dive into the Microsoft Teams in Office 365, including uses for staff, PLCs and classes. You will get the opportunity to explore tools such as Office Online, OneNote Class Notebooks, Microsoft Forms, and Sway, including how to provide your staff with learning experiences beyond the four walls of the classroom through the Microsoft Educator Community. Participants will finish the day with plenty of training resources and a plan to successfully implement these new learnings with staff.

By completing the training, you will receive an Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Trainer Academy badge. You will have the opportunity to become an MIE Trainer and will be empowered to deliver the program with free use of the training materials.  Attendees will also receive complimentary certification vouchers* for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) exams enabling you to continue to advance your own professional development following this training.

Audience:  This event is designed exclusively for K-12 school district and building trainers who have responsibility for training educators on the integration of Microsoft technology in the classroom and have a willingness to commit to training 100 or more educators annually.

MIE OneNote Teacher Academy- November 18, 2017

K-12 Teachers - Join us for a Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) OneNote Teacher Academy to learn more about Microsoft’s hottest tools and resources to empower your students to achieve more!  Bring your own Windows 10 device to this one-day professional learning experience to learn how help teachers develop the basic skills needed to use OneNote as a productivity and collaborative tool for both themselves and their students. Interactive lessons will be created using the tools in OneNote which will then immediately transfer to classroom practice. Teachers will experience and discover how Professional Learning Communities can be more productive when using OneNote to drive content delivery and creation.

 

By completing the training, you will earn points towards a Certified MIE badge.  Attendees will also receive complimentary certification vouchers* for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) exams enabling you to continue to advance your own professional development following this training.

MIE CCGA Academy- November 18, 2017

This 6-hour Teacher Academy provides teachers an orientation to the Creative Coding through Games and Apps (CCGA) course curriculum and an introduction to the TouchDevelop platform and online CCGA tutorials. The CCGA curriculum is intended for middle school through early secondary classroom settings and no previous computer science or coding experience is required. Learning outcomes include:  (1) Introduction to TouchDevelop and the span of coding concepts addressed in the course, (2) introduction to all course materials and how to use them, (3) understanding for how to teach Units 1 -4 of the course, and (4) a detailed roadmap for further preparations that may be needed to teach the full course. Participant pre-work prior to the workshop is required.

Minecraft: Education Edition is an open world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is your imagination. During this 1-day, in-person Teacher Academy, you will receive an overview of Minecraft: Education Edition, learn to play the game, and create curriculum and classroom resources you can take back to your classroom and continue your journey.  Ensure you bring a Windows 10 device or Mac OSX for this BYOD hands on workshop.
