Join NYSCATE Corporate Council member BrainPOP at 11 am ET on November 19 for this engaging hour-long webinar about coding.   

The New York State Education Department recently released a draft of the NYS K-12 Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards for stakeholder feedback. The new standards are expected to be voted on by the New York State Board of Regents and school districts are looking at the instructional technology plans to implement the standards in the 2020-2021 school year. BrainPOP’s digital resources are currently used in the majority of NYS school districts.

BrainPOP’s Creative Coding engages students and teachers with scaffolded block- and test-based projects that span the K-12 curriculum so that all teachers can easily introduce coding, no matter what they’re covering in class. It integrates computational thinking experiences alongside the general curriculum.

Allisyn Levy

Since joining BrainPOP in 2007, Allisyn Levy has played an integral role in the creation, launch, and continued development of BrainPOP Educators, our online professional community. Now, as VP, Project Lead, Allisyn oversees BrainPOP’s newest student creation tool, Creative Coding. Allisyn is a National Board Certified Teacher who spent 11 years as an elementary education teacher. She frequently leads workshops for teachers on integrating coding into the curriculum and game-based learning.

Upon registration, you will then receive a Zoom meeting invite to connect to the webinar prior to the event.  The session will be recorded and available for review for all registered attendees.  Space is limited to 90 attendees.
