Welcome to NYSCATE, the professional organization representing technology using educators and administrators in New York State. As a non-profit, volunteer organization, NYSCATE draws strength and support from its talented and diverse membership. With a current membership base of over 3,600, including teachers, administrators, school board members, and parents; we are dedicated to insuring that every child receives a “world class” education.
NYSCATE is an affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and a consistent advocate, on your behalf, at the state and national levels, for increased funding for educational technology. We work with our corporate partners, BOCES, Regional Information Centers (RICs), and Teacher Centers to insure that our members are up to date on emerging technologies and best practices in using technology to improve instruction.
As an organization run by volunteers there are many ways for you to be part of the NYSCATE experience. Become part of the NYSCATE team by volunteering for a committee, writing an article for our web page, delivering a presentation at one of our conferences, applying for a special NYSCATE grant award, nominating a colleague for statewide recognition as a educational technology leader, or simply attending our Annual Conference, one of our regional conferences, or our Summer Leadership Summit.
However you decide to participate, you will find that being part of NYSCATE connects you to a network of educators who are blazing new paths with educational technology. NYSCATE can be your vehicle for learning, as well as a place for you to share your experiences with others.
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors and membership of NYSCATE, I invite you to become part of our team. A team composed of passionate and dedicated educators, committed to transforming teaching and learning, in order to provide our children with an education that prepares them to live satisfying and productive lives.
In appreciation,
Steve Andrus
President, NYSCATE
